該劇是“永生宇宙”第二部劇，改編自Anne Rice的“梅菲爾女巫家史 Lives of the Mayfair Witches”三部曲。
故事講述直覺敏銳的年輕神經外科醫生Rowan Fielding，她發現自己是一個女巫家族意料之外的繼承人。她在努力麵對新獲得的力量時，還必須應對一種困擾了自己家族幾代人的邪惡存在。
該電視劇宇宙根據Anne Rice的“吸血鬼編年史-梅菲爾女巫”係列小說打造，製片人Mark Johnson（《絕命毒師》《風騷律師》）擔任領頭人，Anne生前和兒子Christopher Rice擔任非編劇執行製片。
