著名話劇演員淵透世（檀麗 飾）去世前，將一支口紅交到女兒小累的手中。這支口紅是她和女兒一生幸福與痛苦的源頭。長大以後，臉上留著恐怖疤痕的淵累（芳根京子 飾）見到了曾為母親擔任經紀人的羽生田（淺野忠信 飾）。羽生田帶著唯唯諾諾的女孩來到劇場，觀看了美麗的女孩丹澤妮娜（土屋太鳳 飾）的表演。高傲的妮娜怎麽也想不到，醜陋的累竟然可以用那支口紅和她交換容顏。原來妮娜身體不佳，且演技進入瓶頸，所以羽生田提出讓有著蓬勃表演欲望的小累擔任妮娜的替身。在此之後，頂著美麗容顏的小累在舞台上飛速成長，而妮娜隱隱感覺到自己有將被取代的危險……
本片根據漫畫《累》改編。
